scapes and atmospheric night scenes.
In
New York, at the Art Students League, he painted in the class
of Robert Brackman. Later visited Europe to live and work
in Florence Italy. When he returned to the States he was filled
with a determination to understand and paint the essence of
New York. Here Myron worked at his painting constantly. Drawing
mastery, however, came to him "more rhythmical"
through his many colorful studies of musicians in Jazz bars.
Myron found a studio on Forsyth street where he has lived
and worked for the last forty years. In order to support himself
Myron drove a taxi which connected him to the energy of surging
humanity. Myron worked for 11 years at a News Stand. This
News Stand, later on, became a subject for one of his most
well known and important works.
In
New York Myron discovered subjects of unending complexity.
Here he connected with a group of fellow artists called "The
Street Painters". This friendly alliance of extremely
talented professionals believed in expressing their feelings
for subject matter with the paint itself. Because of this
exchange of ideas with other artists, and because of the early
loss of his brother at age 26, New York became his most important
vehicle for his portrayal of the human condition. Myron is
represented in many private collections including that of
Warren Buffet. He is also represented in the public collections
of 10 museums.
